Tenth Avenue North: Love Is Here.

2009 September 25
by Bonnie Gray

Love is here. Love is now.

Artist: Tenth Avenue North
Album: Over And Underneath
Year: 2008
Title: Love Is Here

Today’s Worship Smoothie, Love Is Here, comes to us from the contemporary Christian band Tenth Avenue North.  It’s the perfect power ballad love song to share on a Friday.

Love Is Here finished as the 12th most-played song on Christian Hit Radio in 2008, according to Radio & Records Magazine’s Contemorary Christian Music chart for the year.

Whether you’ve soared through the week or just got through it,  God’s love welcomes us into the weekend.

There are so many things in this world we have to wait for.

As children, we wait to grow up and strike our own path.

As dreamers, we lie in waiting, on the lookout for vision to meet up with truth.

As parents, we wait to see evidence of seeds we’ve planted, push up from the soil of our children.

As workers, we wait for the day’s end, when our labor pauses and our bodies rest.

One beautiful island of refuge stands out, apart from waiting.  This isn’t an island nestled far away in tropical retreat.

This is God’s love, readily available, without any wait.

I fell into this place of love this week, in the palm of my Master’s hands — when I was frail bumping into my imperfections and melancholy, reminiscing earlier days.

Thank God we can immediately expend ourselves in His invitation to love.

Love is here.  Love is now.  Stop and enter.  Lay yourself down and rest.

As you play today’s song, reflect on the images shown in the clip and listen for the grit in Michael Donehey’s voice. With a knowing smile, I hope you’ll enjoy my favorite lines and share a faith moment together:

Come to the Father, you who work and you’ll work no more.
And all you who labor in vain and to the broken and shamed:

Love is here.
Love is now.
Love is pouring from
His hands, from his brows.
Love is near, it satisfies.

May this song carry you through to the close of the day and give you the lift I’m wishing for you.

Love is here.  Love is now. Happy Friday to you.

What role has God’s love taken in your faith walk this week?

How do you like the song Love Is Here?

Lyrics to Love Is Here - By Tenth Avenue North

Songwriters: Michael Donehey; Jason David Ingram; Jason Jamison; Phillip Larue; Drew Middleton.

Come to the waters, you who thirst and you'll thirst no more.
Come to the Father, you who work and you'll work no more.
And all you who labor in vain and to the broken and shamed:

Love is here.
Love is now.
Love is pouring from
His hands, from his brows.

Love is near, it satisfies.
Streams of mercy flowing from his side.
Cuz love is here.

Come to the treasure, you who search and you'll search no more.
Come to the lover you who want and you'll want no more, no.
And all you who labor in vain and to the broken and shamed,

Yeah

Love is here.
Love is now.
Love is pouring from his hands, from his brows.

Love is near, it satisfies.
Streams of mercy flowing from his side.

Yeah

And to the bruised and fallen,
Captives, bound, and broken hearted.

He is the Lord
He is the Lord

Yeah

By his stripes he's paid our ransom
From his wounds we drink salvation

He is the Lord
He is the Lord

Love is here.
Love is now.
Love is pouring from his hands, from his brows.

Love is near, It satisfies.
Streams of mercy flowing from his side.
Streams of mercy flowing from his side.
Cuz love is here
Love is here.

I felt so much of God’s love while vacationing with my family last week. We were able to spend time together without any time constraints or obligations.

Also, I went to a Jeremy Camp concert last night. Bebo Norman and Natalie Grant opened. It was incredible. God’s love poured out of them.

Have a great Friday and a great weekend!

“What role has God’s love taken in your faith walk this week?”

    Thanks for the video!

God has brought some clients to my office this week who have faced so much, and cling to God so tightly, I learn so much from them…

    Blessings Bonnie.

Wow, never heard that one before.

I wrote about it earlier in the week but on Tuesday night God answered a prayer and brought us in from the rain and closer to him.

“Come to the Father all you who work and you’ll work no more”

What’s that all about? Can someone explain it to me?

IT’s a nice song though, thanks for sharing.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for.
    God is love.
    Love is now.

    “IS” is a big word.

I just love how it all ties together – this IS exactly what I needed today to help a grieving sister-in-law.

Great worship smoothie to worship smoothly.

    Thanks

@Doug: Dear Doug, I think “Encourage” is your middle name! ;) Blessings, dear brother, as you minister to your sister-in-law and everyone else around you!
