i have been reading NLT for a long time and taught fromit because of it’s ease and structure. i love the Life Application Bible element as well
this Mosaic Bible sounds like a dream!

I am a child of the word (I wish I felt more comfortable in capitalizing the W in word). Since I can remember, it’s been words — written and oral — that have most easily and quickly led me to reflect on God’s Word. Lately, though, other media have entered into the picture — the art of Makoto Fujimura or the illustrations for the St. John’s Bible; photography paired with text or poetry; and music by Bach and Handel (and understanding where their music came from). Sometimes it’s overwhelming to try to understand God the creator — but that’s what all of these media most signify to me — a kind of tiny echo of the original creation.

Although anything is for me an excuse to reflect on God’s Word, writings are most likely. In the words of others I often hear either the echo of God’s Word, or the contrast of Scripture.

Words have always blessed me the most. I love Frances J. Roberts devotionals and a few others, but losing myself in The Word is the most healing.

Which inspires you most to reflect on God’s Word: paintings, photograph, music, or writings?

For me each one at different times can cause me to reflect on God’s Word, but as a reader…I would have to say that writings most inspire me. There are definitely paintings, photos, and music that cause me to pause and reflect, but words have always been something I enjoy and find the most inspirational.

I have used the NLT since it came out and thoroughly appreciate its purpose to make the Bible accessible to today’s readers. For those of us who are visual learners, the addition of artwork in this Bible is wonderful! I have to come down on the side of paintings that serve to inspire.
